Logic audio editor11/10/2023 ![]() Other times, the dynamics of the pop don’t trigger the settings you’ve utilized for other instance. Sometimes, one pop “hits” higher up in the frequency spectrum than another. However, not all pops in a track are the same. I would insert the plug-in before any vocal denoising, EQ, or compression. If you have a vocal with the occasional pop, running De-plosive as a plug-in process should work most of the time. If you’re working with a track that only has hum some of the time, use in standalone or AudioSuite (in the case of Pro Tools) to better adjust the problematic region. ![]() It works well as a plug-in for tracks that have a consistent hum. ![]() I would advise using De-hum similarly to Voice De-noise. Depending on your DAW, you can use an external editor, RX Connect, or, in the case of Pro Tools, simply apply the AudioSuite to the region that needs fixing. I also don't see any preference in Melodyne standalone to define a default location for saving files.Should the noise change throughout the recording-if the hard drive suddenly whirrs louder, for instance, or if the fridge compressor kicks on mid take-it’s better to engage the standalone app for de-noising. You have Melodyne Editor, I don't see why it would behave differently in your system when running as a standalone app (regarding the saving deal). If you want to bring back the original, you'd need to re-add it to the audio bin. The new processed file replaces the one in the project, both in the arrange and audio bin. Melodyne is nice enough to make a backup of the original (which remains in the audio files folder with ".origx" appended to the file name). It will give you the option to replace (overwrite) the file, give the file a new name so that you don't replace the other one, or cancel. If you save a file with the name "maryhadalittlelamb" to a location where another file exists with that same name, the program you're using (in this case Melodyne, but most programs do this) will warn you that another file with the same name already exists in that location. I really don't think this has anything to do with 32 or 64 bit mode, it's all about file management. Will get back with with an answer after I do the check in 32 bit mode. Still I cannot be sure it's the 64 bit mode oporating that is the root of this particular issue. Until now, I haven't encountered any restrictions since I made the change to 64 bit mode. Ever since the swap to 64 bit, the system has run smoother and 96K, it has massive power benifits. Toontracks Superior Drumme and their enire line of product as well as Melodyne both were 64 bit now. When I went back and looked at Logic 64 bit, there had been a big load of updates that brought 64 bit up to speed for use rather then 32 bit. He stated he had been running 64 bit mode and hadn't looked back. For that reason, and at the time, the 32 bit bridge was more of a hassle still having a 4 gig memory limit, I stuck with 32 bit mode for the year until a recent event, maybe 5 months ago? When I was on this forum complaining about something and one of the responders asked me why I was running in 32 bit mode since that was the issue at the time. If the audio is updated on the arrange page as well as showing up in the audio bin, then this is the case.īack when I started running Logic in 64 bit, there were a good number of operations that could not be performed so long as logic was opened in 64 bit mode. I'll let you know later after I open Logic in 32 bit mode and try the process. This is the kind of thing that I would lay odds is due to running in 64 bit mode. Therfore, when I use the save audio diolog, the file is automatically created in a directory of it's own and there is no relationship to Logic nor does the saved audio go to the audio bin where it should be on tap as well as updated on the arrange page. There is no problem opening a region in the external sample editor (ESE), it's the save function, the external sampler is treating the file as it would normally and very independently of Logic.
